Q: How much does a paint job/dents cost for 2006 Civic?
I have a 2006 2 door Civic and it's a galaxy grey color. It has a 2 line dents on the door and have some scratches on some parts of the car that will need to be painted. Does anyone know how much that would cost for me to get it fix?

A: Dents run what your area charges for labor, My area is $135 an hour. Then add paint job. Maaco charges roughly $350 for their middle of the road paint job. Premium is higher. Body shop about $2000. Earl Schieb (if still in business) about $150.

Q: how much would it cost to rebuild a 2006 civic?
im wondering how much it would cost to rebuild the motor on my 2006 civic sedan lx. its just a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder. also the owner before me had an intake kit on it, and ran it without an air filter! for at most 20,000 milse. how much damage do you think he could possibly have done to it? the car has 51,000 miles on it and runs GREAT

A: You could probably find a relatively new engine for just a few hundred dollars - honda parts are everywhere. Unless he drove in dusty areas, it probably didn't do any real harm. If it still runs fine, just put a filter on and drive it. You can blow out any buildup in the cylinders by driving it hard for a few miles.

Q: 2006 Civic manual transmission making sound?
Hi, I just received a 2006 Honda manual civic. I am a big amateur when it comes to technical stuff. Before me my mom used to use this civic and she really tortured the transmission by putting it to wrong gears and lots of stalls. When I put the gear in there is a audible dull clicking noise coming from bottom of the car. Is this normal? or am i just overreacting? THanks!

A: no, your gears could be messed up, first check your fluid if its not a sealed transmission if its fine then you got problems

Q: where is the mp3/ jack location on a 2006 civic?
im trying to find where the mp3/ jack location is on a 2006 civic?

A: Looks like that model did not have a mp3 jack - the '07 models and later have mp3 jacks.

Q: Cost for starter replacement in 2006 Civic Si?
For the past month my 2006 Civic Si has not been starting like it use to. At first I thought it was the battery because it sounds like it doesn't want to start. After this long I have to assume the battery is ok and the starter is just going bad. Anyone know how much this is going to cost to replace? Thanks. 38k miles. Warranty only covers to 36k. Figures.

A: your car should have warranty. honda warranty is bumper to bumper/3yrs,36,000 powertrain/5yrs,60,000 corrosion/5yrs/unlimited hope this helps.. good luck

Q: 2006 Civic?
looking to replace the tired Taurus and I really like the look and mileage potential of this car - especially the coupe. This will be our first import..are the Honda cars really as good as I've heard?

A: I have a 2006 Civic and 1993 Civic. I've also had a 1987 Accord. They're great cars. The newer Civic tends to have lots of road noise but rides great. It has a pretty stiff suspension so you also feel that. It's still pretty new and I get a little over 30 mpg, 4dr automatic. I'd choose a Japanese or German car over American any day. Q: OBDII reads P0456 evap emission leak on my 2006 civic ex coupe, fuel cap is tight. What may be the solution?
I have a 2006 civic ex coupe where the check engine light turned on and when the OBDII reader showed P0456 evaporative emission leak. I double checked that the fuel cap is tighten, but no luck on the issue. Any clue in what may be the case?

A: There could be a problem with the cap. There also may be a small leak in the system that vents vapor into the engine or maybe even the tank. Unless you want to just replace parts until you get the right one, I would take it in so they can do a pressure test. My assumption is that this is not a bank-breaker but I have not had this exact thing go wrong.

Q: Intermittent scraping noise in 2006 civic?
I drive a 2006 Honda Civic, and it has recently started making a metallic scraping noise near the front driver's side wheel. It's not constant, nor is there any pattern to when it happens. It sometimes starts or ends after a turn, but not always. It is also sometimes accompanied by a loud squealing noise when I'm braking.. but not always. I've checked under the car and nothing is hanging down to make such a noise. Any suggestions?

A: Ummm... ever think about replacing your brake pads? lol Nah, just kidding. That sounds like the wear indicators on your brake pads. They shouldn't be warn that much by now unless you're riding them in traffic, so I'd have the dealer look at your brakes if the pads are already low. They should be able to adjust them or apply silicone to limit the squeaking even if the pads are fine. You could also just have contaminants on your brake pads. Try slamming on the brakes in both forward AND reverse a couple times to clear them (be careful, especially in reverse! lol)

Q: What is the suitable octane fuel for Civic hybrid 2006 ?
I want to ask, What is the suitable octane fuel for Civic hybrid 2006 ? And is I can use another oil instead of 0W20 for my civic because in my country this type of oil very rare or sometimes not available, and what is the alternative oil ?

A: 87 octane is fine, translate that to whatever that means where you're from. As for the oil, u can use 5W30 or 5W20 IF the weather is usually warm where you're from. I live in NYC and due to some cold winters we need to have the 0W20. The first number before the W is the below celcius rating at which it will still work (cold) the second is the hot rating. which is why old big engine cars need 20W50. i could be a bit wrong on teh whole theory but that's a decent summary to satisfy teh taste buds.

Q: Questions about my used honda civic 2006?
I've purchased a used civic 2006 and it makes a loud whirling noise or I guess spinning noise. What could this be?? I've been looking around on the internet and noticed that the civic 06 had a recall on a bearing??? Would this recall apply to me if the previous owner did not get it taken care of?

A: If you are hearing a grinding noise, the recall would most likely apply to you. You will still (probably) be able to get the bearing replaced at your dealer for free. If you can't, I suggest new wheel bearings from http://mibearings.com Good Luck!

Q: 2006 civic was in an accident and i want to fix the quarter panel?
the car i bought it was in a previous accident and i want to fix the car up, what would be the best way to repair the dents and scraps on the quater panel?

A: It all depends on the amount of damage, if there are scrapes or scratches, try using a rubbing compound and buffing wheel to clean them up. the dings and dents may be partially removed by using a paintless dent repair technique. some body shop and dealerships have these people handle the hail damaged cars. The Dent Wizards, and Dent doctors are a couple names to try. If the damage is greater, you will need to shop body shops and work with them for the best price.

Q: Why is it that on the 2006+ Civic models the only trim that has a badge is the Si?
What happened to the EX, LX, DX badges? I know the hybrid and GX have badges but what about the others?

A: Honda does not include the badges on any of their models anymore. It is probably a simple cost-savings tactic. Say it costs Honda $5 for each badge they put on every car. Multiply that by 200,000 cars sold a year, and that is a $1,000,000/year bottom-line savings for the company without affecting quality or customer service.

Q: What kind of air filter for a 2006 Civic SI?
I recently had my oil changed and the mechanic pointed out that my air filter was very dirty and definitely needs to be changed. Without installing an entirely new intake system, what is a recommended air filter to be installed? Price is not an option I would like to hear all options and if anyone thinks it's not worth it and I should keep it stock please say so.

A: Couple different options, you can put on a cold air intake, which will give you a slight boost in HP and gas mileage. But will cost you up to 300 dollars. Or put the stock one in. ($20) Or put on a K&N after market that fits in the stock spot. (30$) So you make the choice. But I would put on the K&N as it gives u better mileage, and is pretty cheap.
