Q: How do you replace the front Blinkers on 2000 accord?
I have a 2000 Accord sedan LX and the front right side blinkers are out. Both bulbs. Just bought 2 but after opening the hood I don't know how to install the bulbs. Do I have to unscrew the big bolt on top of the whole headlamp and pull it out? Thanks.
A: you should just be able turn the socket on the back of the headlamp assembly to remove it from the headleap housing
you don't need to remove any bolts or the housing. the socket should turn about 1/4 turn counter clockwise to release the tabs. the bulb will be in the socket when you pull the socket back from the housing.
be sure to line up the tabs on the socket with the slots in the housing when you put the socket back in.
on some cars there is a "periscope" air tube that you have to pull out to get to the headlamp housing. it will be on the passenger side. it just pulls straight up to remove it and pushes back in to reinstall it
hope that helps
Q: How do you replace the front blinker to a 2000 Accord Sedan?
I have a 2000 Accord sedan LX and the front right side blinkers are out. Both bulbs. Just bought 2 but after opening the hood I don't know how to install the bulbs. Do I have to unscrew the big bolt on top of the whole headlamp and pull it out? Thanks.
A: do not unscrew the big bolt!!!!!!!!!! if you look next to the headlamp with the hood open you will see a phillips screw, take it out and then get a plastic knife and work the side lamp out forward from the edge of fender. if the lamp in the bumper is out that is a little more involved, you will need a long phillips screwdriver, the screw is to the inside edge of the lamp, a little hard to see without a flashlight. good luck
Q: I have a 2000 Accord. Should i fix it up or wait till the summer and get a 350z and put in a turbo?
Right now i have a 2000 Honda Accord. I'm limited on cash but i want a 350z but i can't get one till the summer. I don't know if i should just fix up the Accord and forget the 350z or just wait and get the 350z and tune it for racing. The Accord would be a show car, and the 350z would be more for speed. I'm 16 so what would be best and why?
A: there is no point in fixing up a honda. and if you get a 350Z and turbo it then you will have a little too much power and gas aint cheap so good luck getting your butt to school guzzling all that gas. Fixing up cars is a waste of money, trust me.
Seriously though I recommend just waiting and saving up for a car that already comes with turbo, like a subaru STI or lancer evolution, they are in similar price range of 350Z too.
Q: How to increase the horsepower of a 2000 accord?
i have a 2000 honda accord v6 lx n i need some suggestion on upping the horses, the chip is $800 so im gonna hold off on that.. what else can i do???
A: Ok so you have a v6. First thing to think about is that you already have a 200Hp car. since most accords dont even weigh 3000Lbs, any moderate modification that you make will be definitely felt. What I did on my 97 accord v6 is: APC cold air intake,(works great when temp is cold) Short shifter (Let's me shift faster). 19" konig trouble rims (help me handle and accelerate better). Venom performance chip (adjusts the fuel to air ratio) bad on gas when on lol. and last but not least new gaskets and headers. Now I am planing to add a nos kit. Nos kits cost from 500-1000 dollars and are not for stock cars. the extra pressure and heat can blow your gaskets right out of your car's hood. You have to buy new gaskets and headers to make sure pressure wont burst the engine. Now all the performance things including nos would give you maybe 70 hp at best for 10 seconds that you can run nos.
Also you can upgrade the clutch and definitely gears. If you add more than 100 hp to the stock gears, they will break.

Now I still have to say 4wd subaru wrx will kill any fwd honda that does not have at least 250 hp. My brother has a 2003 Subaru wrx (non Sti). It makes about 230 hp. My car has 240 and although he has less power, he outperforms me in 0-60. not by much tho. he has better traction in summer and he drives it in winter like nothing. (My car is useless in winter) lol. But it is a chick magnet during summer.

Like many people suggested. Do not buy cheap parts. They will break. Cheap turbos dammage engines. Be smart about what you buy and also think about if you are dammaging it's resale value. If you are then dont add that part.

My best wishes to you and your car.
Q: Can't start my 2000 Accord. The battery is good. I think the alternator is good. What could be the problem?
Our 2000 Honda Accord 6 - cylinder will not start. Not even a click when I turn the ignition. I just had the battery charged an hour ago so the battery is not the problem. We had a new alternator put in two years ago at a Honda dealership so it should be okay. What could be the problem?
A: Starter, solenoid, cables, ....................
Q: 2000 accord timing belt, when should I replace it? Can I go past 90k or 10 years?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX Coupe V6, its now 10 years old but I only have 75k on it. Can I stretch it to another year? I have a quote from a Honda dealer and its $1,500 dollars to replace the timing belt, the water pump and all the belts. Any advice? What is the risk factor of waiting another 2 years?
A: Most vehicle manufacturers recommend replacing the belt at 100,000 miles. You should be ok.
The Honda dealer is way out of line on the $1500 quote though. According to repairpal.com, that repair should run between $400 and $550 depending on where you take it.
If you are a DIYer, you could do it for around $65.
Q: How to install mirror assembly in accord 2000?
My accord 2000 power mirror assembly driver's side is broken. I bought a new one in ebay and wanted to install. The problem to install is - how to plugin the cable? It is under door panel. I could able to take out the snap plastic knobs/screews in the right hand side, but that is not enough since the cable runs and lathces almost in the middle of the door. Can some one give me a step by step instructions?
Thanks!
Niceguy
I tried pulling out the wire/cable after removing the mirror after unscrewing the nuts. But the wire didn't come out and it is held tightlly inside door panel. So I need to remove the door panel to unplug the cable. Can you explain how to do this?
Thanks!
Niceguy
Mine is Honda accord LX 2000 model manufactured in US
A: corner of your door, where your mirror is should be a plastic piece that is like a triangle. pop that off (remove any insulation, foam) and you should see 3 bolts, 10mm. holding the mirror, undo those bolts and now the mirror is free. pull the mirror out just a bit and the cable to unplug the wires should be right there. never seen it down inside the door.
unclip the wires, clip in the new wires, re-bolt on the new mirror in reverse. there should be no reason to remove the door panel.
Q: 2000 Accord V6 Catalytic converter or spark plugs wires?
I drive a 2000 Accord V6 with about 108k miles and recently my "check engine" light turned on. I took my car to Honda and they told me I needed a new catalytic converter, but when I took my car to autozone they told me that it was definitely NOT the converter but it was the spark plug wires. The autozone printout reads "Catalyst effeciency low-bank 1" and that it's either due to "Catalytic converter defective, engine misfire, large vacuum leak, or Engine oil leakage into exhaust-valve guide seals, piston rings". Does anyone have any information on this subject? I just want to know exactly what's defective so I don't have to spend money fixing the wrong thing.
A: A lot of these situations are trial and error.
The very first thing I would try is to disconnect the battery fully, wait a few minutes and reconnect. This will reset the check engine light, and it is possible that it does not come back on.
If it does come back on, then something is certainly causing it. This is where the trial and error comes in. Start with the least expensive item first. Plug wires and plugs. You might need new wires and plugs anyway, even if this is not the current problem. If this does not work, go back to autozone and have them give you a new printout. The code may have changed since you changed the wires and plugs...it is possible.
If it still says Catalytic converter or vacuum leak....well, at this point, I would find an autoshop that specializes in Honda. They will be able to diagnose the problem fairly quickly and most likely cost less than the dealer.
Try do it yourself first - if you can - then take it to a specialist...I would hate to see you pay the dealer for a new catalytic converter and it turns out yours was fine. That happened to me once.
You might also change out your O2 sensor, if it needs it.
Good luck.
Q: is there any way i can put newer honda wheels on my 2000 Accord?
I have the 4 bolt pattern. Is there any way i can put 5 bolt pattern wheels on my accord. A buddy of mines told me that there is an adapter you can use but i have yet to see one.
A: you have to install 5 lug hubs and rotors from a v6 accord.
Q: How do you turn off the dashboard needs maintenance light on 2000 Accord?
I do not have a owners manual which apparently tells you how to do this.
A: A maintenence lite is different than a check engine light. The maintanence lite is usually just an indicator telling you that the preset mileage that you are nearing or have reached is due. generally it means that you are do for your oil and filter to be changed. But just changing your oil does not put out the light. You should have a button on your dash for the tripmeter. With the engine off, push the button in, then turn the key to on power with the button still being held in. You should see the mainteneance lite flash or blink. Let go of the button after a few flashes and start the engine. The lite should now be off and reset until the next time that you are do for the oil change. And by the way, if you havent changed the oil recently, do so now. Your light will come back on in a few thousand miles again, just repeat what i told you here and you will be fine.
Good Luck, and i hope you can teach someone else what you mastered.
Q: How do I remove the wheel hub on a 2000 Accord?
Need to remove the wheel hub. Everything is practically removed, including the axle nut. Do I need a special tool? Can I just hammer it out and hammer it back in when I'm done? Do I need to remove the axle rod out first? Thanks.
A: There should be 3 or 4 bolts on the flange attaching the hub to the body.
Remove those, and tap it with a hammer to knock it loose from any rust.
Good Luck!
Q: What gas should I pump in my 2000 Accord Ex V6, to achieve best results overall for longer life on engine?
I drive at least 30 miles per day, and use Royal Purple Synthetic Oil.
A: it was built for 87 octane.
Q: Best Way to Install Sirius Radio in a 2000 Accord?
I just bought a 2000 Honda Accord from my friend and it has the stock radio / CD only. I used to have a BMW and I paid extra money to have Sirius wired in through the "AUX" input instead of using the FM Modulator. Should - or can - I do this "AUX" setup in my Accord? What is the best setup, and how much would it cost? I am not that particular, I just want it to be reliable and sound o.k. I have heard mixed things about FM Modulators. Also, I wonder where the best place is to have the sat. antenna mounted. Thanks in advance.
A: stay AWAY FROM fm modulators best way is aux INPUT
and you can install the antenna in the trunk
good luck

Q: Do you have to take off the bumper when putting in aftermarket headlight housings on a 2000 accord?
We took out all the screws and now they still won't come out. Did we just miss one somewhere? Please, anyone who has put aftermarket light housings on this model, help!!
A: i used to have a 2001 civic and i know to change the headlight housing on those you had to remove the bumper to get to some screws/bolts on the bottom. its probably the same for an accord
