Q: 1967 Mustang?
I want to get this Mustang for my 17 birthday for my first car, but its tough and rusty and doesn't exacly run. It won't take to much to get her running. He is asking for 1500 to 2000$ should I get it.

A: nice cars and i have owned two 67 fastbacks, if its got the 289 V8 in it then i would get it but then that's what i do for a living, and if its got the 200 6banger then i would think a few before buying it, but then again that's what i do for a living so i would end up buying it. the places to look on those cars for rust that's going to cost you big, is just in front of the doors where the firewall and the floor pan meet, the floor boards both front and back and in the trunk where the bumper supports are, those are the places that they rust the most and that will cost you the most to fix, parts for that car are real easy to get and they are repopping them off like crazy, NPD ( national parts depot ) and ( year one ) have all most every thing you could ever look for on that car. i have gotten lots of parts from NPD there phone number is 1-800-368-6451 ask them to send you one of there free catalogs on mustangs they handle stangs from 1965 to 1973, and i mean they have everything if you have the dog post and the roof pan then they have everything else and cheap as hell.

Q: Is it possible to make my 1967 mustang a fastback?
I want to take my 1967 mustang and turn it into a Shelby. But the 1967 Shelbys were fastbacks. So is it possible to possibly cut and weld (followed by grinding and everything else) a fast back onto it?

A: Kits for this conversion are available, but when considering the kit and the required labor, I have to seriously wonder if the means justify the end. Why not simply try and find a fast back to begin your Shelby clone with? Check out: www.coupetofastback.com/index.htm

Q: 1967 Mustang 289 swap a three speed manual for a c4 auto?
The car is a 1967 Mustang 289 V8. What I want to do is swap out the the three speed manual transmission for a c4 automatic transmission. What I need to know: 1.Has anyone done something similar to this with success(whats your advice and is it worth it)? 2.List of all exact parts I will need to make this work? 3.How hard is it, will it need any extreme modifications? 4.Any reccommendations? Thanks for the help.

A: I did it with my 71 Mustang, went from a 3-speed to a C4. Regardless of what people tell you, what I DIDN'T need to change is: - Drive shaft - Starter - Speedo Gear Everything is a unbolt, boltup replacement -- no cutting or anything radical. I had to change my radiator since the one I had didn't have the transmission cooler built in - I had a 6-cyl. Running the transmission cooler lines were tricky since I received them all bent up. Changing the brake pedal was easier than I thought, changed the whole support base. Wiring for the reverse switch plugged right into the harness. Had to change the Carb linkage to accept the kick down rod. getting it tweeked right took a little time. Need to add a vacuum line to the transmission modulator. Replaced the transmission mount. Replacing the shifter was a breeze. Pulling the flywheel off for the flex plate wasn't too hard, remember to pull out the pilot bearing from the rear of the crank shaft. Make sure you have the right size flex plate for your engine/starter, I sized mine with the flywheel. I did the whole thiing on a weekend. Make SURE you replace the front and rear seals in your C4 before you install it, they need to be fresh when you install it.

Q: 1967 mustang!!?
I am looking for one. I want one so bad but have limited finances. I am too young to get a loan and only have about 3,000 dollars to work with. Does anybody have any cars available or any advice in buying or looking for a car. I have never done this before. P.S. This car has to run. I have to be able to drive it, so I can't really work with a complete project car. Please help my dream come true!!! I know it will be difficult to find what i am looking for. I don't want it to be perfect. And I expect to have to do something with it. I would just like it to be able to run and die on me the first day. I am asking in order to find tips on finding a mustang.

A: Not going to happen, unless you get extremely lucky. It is very unlikely you will find a road worthy 67 Mustang for this price. Kind of crappy, drivable ones go for about twice that. A decent one will be at least 8 to 10 thousand. A nice one will be at least 20 thousand. Unlikely you will get a loan for a car like this. Keep saving your money until you get enough to buy one. Check eBay Motors for a 67 Mustang. They currently have 66 of them listed. You can see what they are selling for.

A: Why not go find yourself a donor fox body mustang? The 302 will drop right in and you can steal all the electronics and the harness and enjoy the beauties of fuel injeciton. Try Autozone. The go through Craigslist. I just looked and saw a few in Houston. Any engine shop can get you one. Try www.speedomotive.com if you want something with pep. :)

Q: How much can the cost be to replace a floor pan of a 1967 Mustang?
I have a 1967 Mustang and was wondering How much the cost would be if the whole floor pan was replaced? How much would you say the price for it would be i just dont want to get ripped off?. the whole floor is either rusted or had holes in it.. the whole floor is either rusted or had holes in it..

A: Wow.... normally just the lowest parts are bad and replaced. Figure $200.00 each for the part and replacment if you are lucky, figure $1,200.00 for all four if you aren't. If the whole pan needs replaced, I would look for a different car to start on.

Q: what parts do i need to make my car have a fast acceleration? i have a 1967 mustang. please list all the parts?
i want to make my 1967 mustang to accelerate faster like 0-to 60 in a very fast time not really top speed just acceleration.... please help?

A: Anything less than 30-40 mile in my car, and i will light up the tyres. it's a 69 mach 1 with 351 windsor. Here a list of what i did to a standard bottom end, which you could do to a 289 or 302. Big cam alloy manifold 600 Holley headers and 2.5 inch pipes (dual) Electronic ignition double row timing chain roller rockers and guide plates high volume oil pump high volume fuel pump 3000 stall (if auto) 3.89 diff ratio This was with standard port heads too, which are holding my motor back right now. With a bigger set of heads, you'd get even more, but by that time you'll ned to rebuild the bottom end of the motor, since it will be making more power than it can really handle. That's why i haven't upgraded heads yet. Still, my combo is expected to be good for low 13's or even high 12's if tuned right, and getting decent traction. Talk to an engine shop/cam supplier, and tell them you are thinking of a combo with these parts, and he will recommend the biggest and most suitable cam for you.

Q: How much would it cost to repaint a 1967 Mustang?
I was looking at an 8 Cylinder 1967 Mustang for sale recently. It's got one of those black vinyl tops (which looks fine). Right now it's got the old yellow paint job which I'd need to strip and I'll like to get red. Maybe like this: http://www.musclecarsociety.com/files/imagecache/muscle-cars/submitted/1967_mustang01_ec02_im.jpg

A: it varies and what type or kind of shop your planning on taking it too and what kind of quality you want done cheap or show car look.
