Q: How do you remove the dash from a 2006 Ram 1500?
I have to replace a $20 part (damper that controls the recirc/fresh air intake) but the dealership says it cost 400 to pull the dash. I took the squirrel cage off and found the damper sitting on top of the cage opening blocking the air. Does anyone have any diagram, pictures or links to help with removing the dash? Thanks

A: those are easy to remove,first remove the trim from it and once all that is done you remove the screws holding it in,auto zone may have a diagram of doing this one,i don't have any links on this one,good luck, http://autozone.com

Q: are the shock absorbers on a 4x4 Ram 2500 from 2003 compatible with a 2006 model?
I wanna know if the 2003 and 2006 Dodge Rams use the same style shock absorbers. both are 4x4 2500 RAM trucks

A: 2003 shows a different part number than a 2006 does,according to my parts book 2004 and up are the same,of course this book has been wrong before,buy its been right more than its been wrong,good luck.

Q: What is the best way to put wheels from a 2006 ram 2500 onto a 1993 ram W250?
Irealize studs will need to go to 9/16 . Are adapters safe?

A: they wont just match up you have to change the hub to match the lug pattern

Q: How do I determine what size of front end leveling kit I need for my 2006 Dodge Ram?
It is half-ton, quad cab, 2wd.

A: go with a 2 inch kit on it then if you decide to swap out the tires later on you wont need to upgrade it,that's what i used on my truck and it rides good but it will be at the limit on the shocks,anymore and you,ll have to change those also,good luck.

I have no lift or leveling kit on my truck I just want it to be easier to to offroading.

A: since you dont have any type of lift....you MIGHT be able to fit 305/70/17 on there but im not sure id try for that if you cuold... youd definetly be able to fit 265's on ther possibly 285's

A: Fees and taxes for registration vary by county in CO, so your only real source of information is going in to the DMV and asking.

Q: my 2006 dodge ram is shaking and i dont know why?
I just got it a couple days ago and i took it offroading in the snow but there was no mud. When i go over 40 mph its starts to shake and when i go faster it shakes more. Idk if its because the snow is making the wheels off balanced or what.

A: you gotta just run through a check list... check suspension, wheel alignment and balance check the engine block for some type of vacuum leak, like in the heads or headers, which could be causing it to shake at higher RPMs

Q: How big of a tire can I run on a stock (no lift) 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab?
Want something more aggresive and to fill out the wheel well more but don't want to get it lifted. It is not a diesel and I would like to use the stock rims on it for now.

A: 295/70r17 I have them on my 2004 2500 with no lift, it fills out the wheel well nice and will still fit the rim.

Q: Where and how do I change the cabin air filter in a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
Does it even have one? Where is it and how do I change it? Could that be slowing down my A/C output?

A: If they go extended periods of time without being replaced they will become heavy with dust and mold and will slow down the air coming through the ac vents. The cabin air filter is located behind the glovebox on top of the blower motor. You must remove the glovebox first. After that their should be a tray of somesort sitting on top of the blower motor. Remove the tabs that hold the tray shut and you can then pull the filter out. It would also be a good idea to pick up an antimicrobial spray solution to kill of the the mold and other allergens that are in the ac system. Any auto parts store will sell it along with your cabin air filter. The spray is $10 and the filter goes for about $20.

Q: Where is the toorsion bolt located to lift front end on 2006 Dodge ram 1500?
Cant seem to find it would like to lift it up to level it out. Does it have one, if so where at? thanks.

A: You have to have torsion bar suspension to have a torsion bolt. If yours is not a sport model 4WD, it does not have torsion bars. I'm not really sure which end of the torsion bar it is on, and it is too cold to go outside and look, but whichever end, it will be pretty obvious.

Q: How can i get more performance from my 2006 dodge ram 1500?
no i dont have the hemi :( its got the 4.7 and i would love some more p/u and go...HELP!!!

Im buying new tires for my ram and would like to know if i could fit 33's or 35's on the 20 inch rim with no lift?? or even what is the biggest tire that can fit without rubbing?

A: On my 04 ram I fit 33's with no issues 33x12.5R17's with NO RUBBING issues on the front and I have stock suspension. I think you can get a 2 inch front leveling kit for the 06 Ram's and able to fit 35's. I am looking into this as I want 35's on my Ram3500 and upgrading to either 18 or 20 inch rims. Placing bigger tires will NOT VOID Warranty as long as you get the speedo calibrated with the oversized tires.

Q: Is it possible to convert a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab Dually from 2wd to 4wd?


A: its possible but not very logical to do that the cost would be astronomical to do this,anything can be done,but there too many components of the 4 wheel drive system to do this without having another truck to work with its just not do able,good luck.

Q: does a 2006 dodge ram 1500 4x2 have a cabin air filter?
I have heard several answers on this site about where it is. Some say it does not even have one. Someone please let me know...does my truck even have one and let me know how you know this.
