Q: How do I remove a door panel on a 2007 silverado crew cab classic to get to the factory speakers?
I just bought some new speakers for my truck for the door panel (kicker ds650 6 1/2 round ) and I need to know how to remove the door panel so I can change out the factory speakers. Its a 2007 chevy silverado crew cab classic looks like the 2006 model. any help

A: 1. remove all hardware (window operators, handles, arm rests, etc) from the door. Some of thgese are screwed on and some have a retainer clip. To get to the clip, you will have to press in on the panel to expose them. Then use needle nose pliers or a blade type screw driver to 'pop' them off. #2. using a putty knife, butter knife, or panel remover tool (available at auto stores), GENTLY use a prying motion to pop the nylon rivets around the edge of the door. Find the rivets by sliding the knife under the panel and slide it along until you find a rivet. #3. this should pop the panel off. You might have to a bit more parts removing, this is only the standard method I use. Get a plastic 'baggy' or a bowl to put all parts in. Keep this container out of yuour work area. If you spill the parts you may not have enough to reclose the panel.

Q: What is the standard bed length on a 2007 Silverado (new body style)?
I'm ordering Bushwacker fender flares for my husbands truck as a gift. But I do not know the bed size for his truck. How long is the bed on a 2007 new body style Silverado?

A: Sorry, without knowing more specifics, there are 4 choices. If your husband's truck is a regular cab 1/2 ton, the box can be either 6'6" or 8'. If it is an extended cab half ton, it could be 5'10", 6'6", or 8'. If it is a crew cab 1/2 ton, it is 5'10" If his truck is a 3/4 ton, it is either 6'6" or 8'. Just sneak out there with a measuring tape and measure the length of the inside of the box from the back of the cab to the front of the tailgate with the tailgate up. You may be off by an inch or so, but it is one of the above lengths.

Q: Will my 2007 Silverado 1500 pull a 28ft 5th wheel?
I have a 2007 silverado 1500 with a 5.3 v-8 and i want to buy a 28ft 5th wheel. the campers weight is 6450lbs and the trucks GVRW is 7000lbs. I want to make sure that the wieght is good before i buy this or if i need to get a bigger truck. the camper dealer said that the truck would handle it fine, but i want to make sure

A: a 28 ft fifth wheel, thats pretty big. i would recommend you either go with a with a fifth wheel that has a gvrw of around 6000lb or get a little bit bigger truck. a chevrolet 1500 is the same as a Ford F150. and i know, i would never tow something that big with a F150. i would recommend you maybe trade up to a chevrolet 2500 with a diesel. some of the hills you are going to be hitting while pulling that trailer will make you happy you have the extra torque. though braking. the truck can handle that. the trailer is equiped with brakes that can handle stopping the full load of the trailer. so in the end. your truck is just stopping itself. and the trailer is stopping itself. so i wouldnt worry a whole lot about that. but make sure you always keep your trailers brakes up to service. i think that you would just find your truck being a biot under power on in some places. though, as long as you take it slow and try to stay to the flatest road you know. the Chevrolet 1500 will handle the trailer ok. good luck, and happy camping! John

Q: where to find paint codes on 2007 silverado(new body)?
Does anybody know where to find the paint codes of 2007 Silverado ( New Body). Im not sure if they are the ones in the glove box

A: It should be in the glove box on a sticker. The paint code will be towards the bottom of the sticker. It should say bc/cc and then there will be a code. The code will probably start with a U or L and be followed by 4 digits. If your truck is not a two-tone then both of these codes should be the same. An exmple of a code is U382E.

Q: Is there different Bose systems with the 2007 Silverado new body style truck?
My front tweeters show Bose on them but the other speakers don't have anything displayed. Is there different Bose systems for this truck?

A: There are different levels of Bose systems, the regular Bose and the Bose Gold Series, but I don't know if they have both options in your particular vehicle. The way you can tell is by the number of different "Sound Fields". like Jazz, Rock, News, etc. I think the basic has only about three while the Gold has five or more.

I understand it's for safety but there has to be some way to override it. When shifted from 'Park' to 'Drive' it deactivates the front screen and only shows on the rear screen.

A: You don't, its against the law. And any one who tells you how to do this will also be responsible for any life you take when you crash your car watching TV. You want a DVD to play when your driving get one that plays in the back seat.

Q: Can anyone provide the key for the build codes on a 2007 Silverado?
I have the build sheet (not the window sticker), but nothing to tell me what the option codes are. I'm especially looking for wheel options, but I'd like all of the codes - too many options to list. Assembled at the Fort Wayne plant.

A: If you can't find it here it doesn't exist They are called RPO's as in Regular production Options
